If the recent string of thefts and random beat-ups at McCarren pool have got you avoiding that neck of the woods, you'll soon have a sparkling new option at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The waterfront park will be inaugurating a new Pop-Up Pool and sandy mini beach this morning at Pier 2, and the colorful spot even has a changing area made of shipping containers. State Senator Daniel Squadron, Brooklyn Bridge Park President Regina Myer, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Executive Director Nancy Webster, Assembly member Joan Millman, Council member Steve Levin and a rep from Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz's office will be cutting the ribbon on the new watering hole today at 9:45 a.m., so if you happen to have the day off, grab your flip flops and head on over there ASAP!
